Hey boaters! This is my first blog post, and unfortunately unlike my fellow bloggers, I haven't been able to boat much this season due to the fickle Chicago weather. But the forecast for today is 77 and sunny (yay!), so I’m hoping to get out a little early to cruise on Lake Michigan....excited to get back out!
When not taking advantage of my friends' boats, believe it or not, my new favorite way to soak up the Chicago scenery on the water is by taking the Chicago Water Taxi, especially when I have visitors. It’s a flat $3 fee, and there’s no tour guide chirping in your ear. Plus, it stops at hot destinations throughout the city, including Navy Pier and the Shedd Aquarium. I can’t believe I just discovered it after 5 years of living here!! I took my Atlanta Boat Show PR gal for a cruise to Navy Pier a few weeks ago:

Another must on my list this month is revisiting friends who run a sailing charter off the coast of Hilton Head Island…a trip I look forward to every year. Their 53 ft catamaran, Pau Hana, holds 50 and is perfect for a party. If you’re looking for something more intimate, the Flying Circus is the way to go – great for a sunset cruise with your closest pals and ideal for entertaining. My group of friends has had some of our best memories out on the water. (You can bring aboard your own snacks and beverages too.)

Wherever the summer takes you, be sure to check out the fun, affordable boating options at your destination. What are your boating musts this summer? Any favorite spots or activities I should look into?
