Now that the summer boating season is underway, Discover Boating's media outreach efforts have begun heating up! Discover Boating's Chicago captain, Rob Newsome, was recently featured on a segment called the “Weekend Web” with NBC5 Chicago’s Charlie Wojciechowski. Rob and Charlie appeared on the infamous Michigan Avenue in a brand new 276 Cobalt (thank you, Gordy’s Marine!) to discuss the latest in boating technology and how to get out on the water in Chicago this summer.

While out on the water last weekend for River Day, one of the Hudson River photographers on our boat reminisced about his childhood family adventures on the water. It was such a great story that I wanted to share it with all of you. Hope you enjoy it!

Hey boaters! I’m excited to finally be joining the rest of the online Discover Boating team with my first blog entry. Well, it’s that time of year again – the sun is shining, the grass is greener and the days are longer. For some, this means dusting off your flip flops and stocking up on sunscreen. For others, this means bracing yourselves for an extra dose of cartoons and macaroni and cheese. That’s right parents, it’s summer break!
