There's never a dull moment on our boat. We swim, we eat and we play games.
Sometimes my daughter and I will bring a puzzle to do on the cockpit table or we’ll play cards as she’s learning to count, but her favorite game is learning how to tie up the boat or wash down the decks. I know what you’re thinking, those are not games, but with my daughter, she is learning how to take care of the boat while having fun doing it.
We approach every task on the boat as a game or a special event. This Father’s Day weekend, my daughter and I are planning to learn to drive the boat together while she sits on my lap. We’ll practice staying in between the buoys as we pull out of the marina and count the nun buoys on the left and then on the right. I can’t think of a better way to spend Father’s Day than with my kids on a boat.
If we stay at a marina during one of our many summer trips, we make sure to pack the board games for my daughter and the large Legos for my son. After dinner and before bed, we all sit as a family around the cockpit table playing their favorite games. Here's a picture of my kids having fun after an all day event on a boat!

What games do you like to play when you are on a boat? What games have you created or invented for your kids?
